 Our professional care begins with providing compassion and comfort to the families we serve.
Licensed Funeral Director John Flynn oversees the Hillcrest-Flynn Pet Funeral Home and Crematory. John is Supervisor and Owner of the John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory located across the street at 2630 East State Street, Hermitage, PA.
Daily operations are under Pet Funeral Director Roberta Knauf, a pet industry specialist with 25-plus years experience and a long list of credits that have earned her among other recognitions the 2006 Pennsylvania Volunteer of the Year Award. Roberta is an evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen program, an Instructor and Certifier for Therapy Dog International and member of the American Pet Dog Trainers Association. She founded the first Prison Puppy Program in Pennsylvania.
John and Roberta are supported by a caring, professional staff.
Our Canine Staff
 Well known in the community and recipient of numerous citations and awards, is our golden retriever Grief Counselor and Service Dog Derek, who provides the special care and attention to individuals and families that only he can provide. Derek is the first CCI (Canine Companions for Independence) service dog placed in a funeral home facility. Derek is most proud of his work with children, especially those of 9/11 families.
 Derek is assisted by Nika, who is certified by Therapy Dogs International and Delta Society.
Hillcrest Memorial Park People and Pet Gardens
 Tom Flynn, CPA, is President of Hillcrest Memorial Park and its People and Pet Gardens. Tom Flynn and his canine companion, Derek, working as a team, are deeply involved with hospitals, schools, The John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory as well as many charitable activities.
